Clay Hand-Building Course

Join us for an exciting 6-week clay hand-building course, where you'll dive into the art of crafting with just your hands and clay—no wheel or special equipment needed. This comprehensive course will empower you with the three essential hand-building techniques: pinch, coil, and slab.

Each method offers the opportunity to create distinct forms that stand apart from the others. Pinch pots enable the creation of small, organic shapes, limited only by the reach of your hands. Coil building involves stacking clay ropes to construct larger, textured, or smooth structures. Slab work is comparable to architectural construction, where you cut and assemble flat clay sheets to form boxes, plates, and geometric shapes.

Classes are scheduled for Mondays on March 16, 23, 30, and April 6, 13, and 20, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. The sessions on April 6 and 13 will focus on glazing and exploring our range of glazes.
